Leverkusen Jazz Days
Bayer Arts & Culture Presents:
The Leverkusen Jazz Days
The Leverkusen Jazz Days have been an integral part of the cultural life of the city of Leverkusen since 1980 and have developed into an internationally recognized jazz festival over the past few decades. For around two weeks in November, Leverkusen becomes the center of the jazz scene and offers 30,000 visitors a highlight in the annual festival calendar. Bayer Arts & Culture has been one of the sponsors since the beginning and has been a presenting sponsor since 2019.
Review of the 43rd Leverkusen Jazz Days
In November 2022, the Leverkusen Jazz Days once again transformed the city on the Rhine into the center of the international jazz scene. Bayer’s own theatre and concert hall Erholungshaus became the main stage of the festival with a variety of musical highlights. Jazz enthusiasts enjoyed internationally acclaimed artists such as Billy Cobham, Don McLean, Spyro Gyra, Judith Hill and Alma Naidu, who also performed at the stARTfestival 2022.
Jakob Manz, who has been a member of the stARTacademy since 2021, was once again one of the younger stars at the Jazz Days with his Jakob Manz Project. Together with Nils Landgren & Friends, Johanna Summer, Ida Sand and Stockholm Underground he performed at Erholungshaus on November 8th.
More highlights can be found on the Leverkusen Jazz Days website (in German).
