Cultural Clubs

Bayer supports artistic ensembles to strengthen diversity and participation in the regions of its corporate locations. This not only promotes local communities and volunteer engagement but also deepens the dialogue between companies, artists, and society.

Art promotion has a long tradition at Bayer. As early as 1907, the company dedicated itself to this field and continues to be active as an organizer and promoter at its locations to this day.

Supporting multiple cultural clubs that have been independent since 2012 is an important aspect of Bayer's societal commitment. At the Leverkusen site, for example, the Bayer Philharmonic Orchestra, the Bayer Men's Choir, and the Bayer Wind Orchestra can look back on a history spanning over 100 years. Both employees and non-employees develop their talents in these clubs.

Highlights as part of the stARTfestival

At the stARTfestival 2026, the Bayer Men's Choir performed as part of the anniversary concert "Happy Birthday, Bayer Wind Orchestra" at the Erholungshaus Leverkusen, musically congratulating the Bayer Wind Orchestra on its 125th anniversary.

Iris Berben was a guest at the stARTfestival in the Erholungshaus Leverkusen and performed there together with the Bayer Philharmonic Orchestra. She read letters by Sasha Marianna Salzmann, which framed the concert program with Shostakovich's song cycle "From Jewish Folk Poetry" in a literary way.

The artist collective Kopffarben and the Bayer Philharmonic have performed "A Midsummer Night's Dream" as a light opera for families twice in recent years as part of the stARTfestival.

In this concert by the Bayer Wind Orchestra with David Orlowsky, his new trio format met the orchestra and combined Klezmer, film, and world music sounds with symphonic wind music into a "musical journey of discovery."
